School Bus Driver

About the Role

Safety First is seeking reliable, safety-minded drivers with a CDL and the required student and passenger endorsements to join our school transportation team. In this role, you will transport school-aged children safely and professionally along assigned routes. This is a meaningful position where you play a direct role in supporting families, schools, and the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school, programs, and approved activities
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and company safety regulations
• Ensure proper loading and unloading of students
• Conduct mandatory child checks after every route
• Maintain professional communication with dispatch, parents, and school staff
• Report delays, incidents, or mechanical issues immediately
• Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and safe
• Represent Safety First with professionalism and respect

Requirements

• CDL with the required student and passenger endorsements
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
• Ability to pass a motor vehicle record check
• Ability to pass the required medical examination
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Availability for morning and/or afternoon shifts
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to student safety

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children
• Previous school transportation experience
• Experience using GPS, telematics, or dispatch systems

Schedule

Morning and/or afternoon shifts, Monday through Friday during the school year
